thank you God, for;

Men and women who give their lives for freedom. Who give their comfort, time with family, even their own freedom; to protect ours. For those of you who devote your lives to serving America; I can see the pride involved in such a selfless, courageous thing to do. Yet how you can leave home time after time I will never understand. Even though I have often felt frustration at the fact that I am a girl and personally better suited for things other than the military career, I have come to accept the fact that the way I can serve my country is support our troops and the cause they fight for. To pray, and write, and let them know, even just a little bit of how grateful I am... simply saying thank you does not express what I feel when I see you guys on TV, in the news... you are truly the best picture of the American spirit, and an even better illustration of Christ as he sacrificed himself for the love of His people. As you struggle under the hardships of war, He is smiling down on you from above and lending His strengthening hand daily, to push you along and give you strength you didn't know you could have. With every step you take towards finishing your job, you becoming more and more a soldier of Christ in the Army of the Lord.

Hallelujah! Praise God for our troops; my prayer for you tonight is for encouragement. May the Lord reveal himself to you and become with each passing moment your pillar of strength!

Thanks for this posting Jennifer. My good friend shared some verses with us along those same lines:

Matthew 25:37-40
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

I think that is a good picture of what our military is doing in Iraq!
Your blog has been a good source of encouragement for my husband. Thanks!
