Persecution in America

I have to write quick before I forget this…

Reading “Tortured for Christ” I have been thinking and comparing a lot about the difference in ministry and religious oppression in, say, China and America. I had come to the conclusion that in America the downside is that there is no oppression or test of faith to insure that our love for Christ is sure and strong; we are weak, and yet proud and if we say we are Christians; well since there is no one to challenge that statement then we find ourselves in the power to redeem ourselves, and therefore see no need for a God whatsoever!
However, I must retract my own first thought on America and religious oppression; obviously I had not thought long on this because the persecution is most definitely present in America. Not through physical torture or communism, but through our schools, government, news media… the liberal side of America is quickly and easily tearing down America’s spiritual heritage as they brainwash children to believe they evolved from meaningless blobs, as they show young, hurt women that babies are just as meaningless and we can kill them without guilt or second thought… the news media must not be left out on this one; they are working to tear down America’s morals; replacing it with deceit, anger, un-justified wars and lies.
Satan’s evil forces are taking place in America; and it’s working. A good percentage of Americans say they are Christians; a small portion of that percentage are actually born-again. We are being persecuted, brought down low and brainwashed, and how many of us actually see that this is happening? How many of us are taking action- writing our senators, speaking out? No; we may be born again, but when we see the action that does need to be taken, how often do we leave the comfort of our plush America homes and join the persecuted, dark world?
I’ve got news for you; it is dark. It is cold. The comfort lies not in our homes or possessions; but in our faith, which will be strengthened, renewed and fired up when we see this cold. When it comes down to that, and a missionary has seen the hopelessness and anger, faith becomes real. Faith becomes ALL.
We all have different callings. For now, I see mine as staying home, honoring my parents and writing in my blog. But then again; how many of us see our true calling; because it’s uncomfortable? How many times have we rejected a call to minister; because it’s uncomfortable, even painful?
America is a persecuted nation. One of the worst, as I see it. And only because; no one is responding.

Jennifer

P.S. that last line was quite dramatic; that's why I liked it as an ending. People are responding; just not near as many as should.

Jen...another great post. I have been thinking it over, and I am gonna claim you as my BLOGdaughter. Judging by your reaction, it seemed like I was the first to link you, and that qualifies you as blogfamily. You continually impress me with your writing. Keep it up, and welcome to the family.

your writing skills are indeed very impressive. keep doing what you are doing, and you will be fought over by universities around the world.

well, at least in the parts of the world that love freedom and intelligence.

i'm looking forward to more insight from you.

thanks.

well, www.blogrolling.com is a start...gives you the code to copy and paste in your template, after you sign up. no worries, it won't cut into your college fund. totally free.

if you need help putting it into your template, just ask.

sitemeter and haloscan commenting are also some things to think about...:)

you're blogrolled on my site. keep up the good stuff, kid.

Blogrolling: I've never used it (I prefer to manage my link list by hand), but it seems pretty nifty.

Sitemeter: Definitely a must. I love it.

Haloscan: PLEASE NO!!! 'Tis a thorn in my flesh!

arg. I am not my brother (obviously). Thanks for trying to help me but I am completely computer ignorant and... can't figure out the blogrolling thing. I got my own account; everything seems fine but when I try to blogroll someone it never shows up... probably just to spite me. Arg. <:(

I'm not sure how Blogrolling works... I've just managed my own link list (which you may wish to do). If you wish, you could temporarily add me as an admin on your blog, and I could try to figure it out (though you don't know me, so you might not be comfortable with that). I did that for Serendipitous and Giggle Fritz who comment on my blog.

On your template, go past the body to the side bar. Just below the sidebar, you'll see your profile. Then I believe you have your postings. I'd suggest you put this list between the profile and your previous posts. The key is to remember the html tags. You'll notice on my list my blog starts with the H6 to indicate the catagory title which I named milblogs. Then the list tag. Put the tags around h6, tags with a "slash" in front of h6 at end of title. Tags around ul and li. Front tag in front of "a" and back tag after url. Blog name. Then tags with slash in front of a, tags with slash in front of li. Lastly tags with slash in front of "ul". Don't forget the slash in front of the ul tag at the end. Your template may be slightly different. So first at the end of profile set your cursor and do a couple enters to give space, paste in my list, at the end do a couple more enters for space. Then preview, if it looks ok keep it, if it doesn't, look at your template to see what they use in place of H6. Everytheing else will be the same. Now you can delete out any blogs you don't want. There are some there you may not want. If you have a problem, let me know by email and I can IM you on yahoo or set up a yaho chat to talk you through it. You have a really nice look on your blog. Keep up the great writes.
