Wait; I didn't mean that!

"The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil."

Proverbs 15:28

How often do we speak quickly, before we even consider our words, and hurt others because of it! Guarding my mouth is definitely a struggle for me, and this verse really stood out as I was reading the other morning. As Christians trying to aim for excellence in all that we do, we need to focus our studies not only on what we write, but we need to study well the things that we say. Before we respond to a frustrated sibling or hurt friend, we need to take our time to make sure that the words we speak are spoken in truth, humbleness, and encouragement.

May Christ be evident in our homes as we struggle to speak in righteousness!

Thank you for the call to speak wisely, Jennifer. Taming the tongue is such a struggle sometimes! May we purpose to indeed think before we speak.
