Never look down!
Have you ever tried standing outdoors, looking straight up into the sky for a long time? After a while, one starts to feel rather dizzy, and more than small. Watching the beautiful, fluffy clouds that look like castles in the sky, or admiring how the sun's last rays shine down through clouds in the evening, it causes us to realize yet again just how small we are... and how big and magnificent God's kingdom is. Beyond our small universe; beyond the blue, unending sky, God goes on forever, and there are no limits to His power.
I only wish that somehow I could cause God's precious creations, the Iraqi and Afghan people, to look up into the sky with open eyes and realize just how small they are, and how glorious He is. What a shame that so many people look down... and never catch sight of the glories above.
Picture taken in Nebraska, driving home from our vacation spot in Colorado.

Wow! That picture is gorgeous! God's creation is truely magnificent! Thanks for the reminder to look up!
Yup I do,
Mainly because that's where I'll be working,
But I can't help but marvel at the beauty the Creator gave it.
Anna Naomi always says what I want to say! The picture is so gorgeous!! I love pictures of the sun.
I've often wondered how people can REFRAIN from staring at the sky. I have always loved gazing up at clouds, at stars.
The funny thing is, there is a certain joy to that realization of one's smallness. The modern culture would have us believe that smallness is what we are running away from; we must incessantly make ourselves more beautiful, more powerful, more important, until the rest of mankind pales in comparison and the universe revolves around us. They think that self-importance and glorification is the essence of freedom--but they are tragically wrong. To be wrapped up in oneself is to be chained within one's own terrible finitude; and what an unspeakable relief it is to stare up into that infinite sky and realize that God is God, and I am man. I am minute, He is infinite; He is in control, I am not; and He loves me. I am relieved of the burden of having the world revolve around me. I surrender to Infinity. And suddenly I am free.
I love that picture. When the sun is shining I think, "God loves me!" It gives me great joy. Thank you!!
Did you really take that picture yourself?? I'm impressed!!
