Terry Schiavo and the fight for life
One year ago today America watched as a life, struggling to hold on, willing to live, was cruelly thrown away. Feminist liberals looked on, satisfied that they won their fight for the “right” to die, and conservative Christians, horrified that such an obviously aware individual who was struggling to hold on would be refused the right to live.
Despite the pleas and cries for Terry Schiavo’s husband to leave the feeding tube in, he refused to acknowledge the fact that she was not brain dead, and after seven years of battle between Michael Schiavo and Terry’s parents, her feeding tube was removed, and she died of starvation two weeks later.
The Schiavo case was a sad reminder of America’s carelessness and disregard for human life. To us Christians, human life on earth is precious, belonging to God… to those who deny any supernatural presence, a beating heart is simply another mass of tissue… just another unfortunate occurrence.
The sanctity of human life is something that those who do not know God can ever fully understand. No matter how much we try to explain to them, they just cannot comprehend why insignificant human life forms would be precious; and even further beyond them- precious to God. For those of us want our kids to take care of us, and not deny us the right to live when we are old, feeble, and handicapped; it’s time to stand up and let America know that we will not tolerate such a low regard for human life; for our lives and the lives of our future generations.
The care of God’s greatest creations on earth is not to be taken lightly. We are to "walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.” Deut. 5:33
Stop to consider what your life, God’s gift, means to you, and how you can use if for Christ. And don’t waste any time making sure people don’t take you and your family for granted; next time you land in a hospital bed may be the last time.

umm, actually the autopsy done "post-death" proved that the woman was in fact brain dead. Further, I don't think ANYONE was cheering or happy about the fact this woman was in this situation. including the "feminist liberals" as you allege.
also, don't you think it was a little bit ironic that the entire reason she was in this situation was because of her anorexia - her refusal to eat. and that doctors were force-feeding her to keep her alive.
your commentary is naive and uninformed.
Instead of calling them "feminist liberals" maybe you should call them murderers.
What are you talking about????
"murderer?" Give me a break. because they believe each woman should have a choice in how to live their life?
How can you say that Terry Schiavo ever had a say in her own death? Sure her husband claimed it was what she would have wanted. I remember her lawyer even told her that if she could only say something, this would all be over... and she tried really hard to say something! She understood what was going on, and was there such a need to suddenly “dispose” of her? Was she that much trouble that Michael Schiavo would fight so hard to let his own wife go? Maybe when it comes to his girlfriend, he’d rather have his former wife out of the way.
Terry Schiavo was not brain dead. And I seriously have to doubt the amount of care and affection her husband had for her.
Read the medical reports. from EVERY SINGLE DOCTOR that ever examined her.
