How far?

How far are you willing to go to protect America? When facing a mob of armed, angry people, maybe even terrorists, would you stand up and speak out for justice and liberty?

Hmmm…. when I take a look around at the soft and sometimes gutless “conservatives” today I have to wonder; if we can’t even face our opponents in congress, how can we face opponents in a war on terror?

Take President Bush; I believe that he has handled the war on terror pretty well, and doubtless much better than *cringe* John Kerry, but when it comes to Christianity and conservativeness, he comes across as a little disappointing. Several things regarding the faith of Christianity that he has done has lowered himself in my opinion. A professing “Christian” is better than a professing atheist, but when it comes to making decisions in the heat of battle, I’d rather have a genuine Christian who is willing to back up his faith in the Office.

I realize that not everyone reading this blog agrees with my theological standpoint, but when faced with war and death, would you be able to stand up and without hesitation state your own beliefs?

Only those in uniform have really understood such a situation where death confronted them, and they had to decide what it was they believed. Liberty? Freedom? Justice? Too many soft and comfortable Americans believe that they uphold these things, and yet when it comes to calamity and war… I feel strangely that these truths which our country are founded upon would leave us.

Take a moment to consider your convictions; for when held at gunpoint, you want to make sure you know what you believe.

What you have written is true, but with this cartoon thing, I have wondered if I would be willing to pring something in the newspaper if it meant I would die for it. It seems pretty safe for us to post our thoughts where we are, away from the violence and somewhat anonymously, but to do it publicly and get killed for something so little would be difficult. One would have to weigh the cost carefully.

Looking at the cartoon I wouldn't have been able to tell that it was Mohammad and for them to have a fit over it is just going to far. There is a thing called freedom of speech and it is just wrong for anyone not to be able to print or say what they want.

Now I don't plan on being held at gunpoint. If you are being attacked by terrorists or angry people. you fight back. what are Guns for.

Are you kidding? he's president of a SECULAR NATION. He is christian enough. You want him to be more so!?! Doesn't it bother you that if he were to take Christianity into account on every decision and announce that to the world that we may end up provoking EVEN GREATER religious warfare with Muslim nations?

Give me a break. I know you want to live in some great Christian utopia, but America is great because it allows for all religions....and the public officials have to respect that.

A Christian Utopia? Who's trying to make it that? The world will never be paradise, even if everyone was a Christian.

Why do you comment if you disagree with everything that Jennifer says?
