Boys vs. Girls

I sit in contemplation
As I witness daily scenes
Of little boys who never fail
To run out of yells or screams.

It puzzles to me to wonder
Where they get this energy?
Though I often feel it’s easier
To see sugar as the key.

They say I was no different
When I was such an age
But I just can’t help but wonder
If this is simply a “boy” stage.

Because though children run and scream
(We all find this a fact)
I’ve found from living with five boys
That there’s something I had lacked…

For little girls are sweet
(though tiffs are possible)
And they have the nice ability
To avoid the hospital.

We all know there’s a difference
Between little boys and girls
And while it can be hard for me

I sat for such a long to time to think of something that rhymes with “girls”, but nothing came to mind! The main point I want to get across is that I am thankful God put boys and girls together… any suggestions on that last line?

Rhymes with girls:

pearls, hurls, unfurls, whirls and curls

I hope that helps. I'm not much of a poet myself.
