Happy Birthday America!

It is July 4th. Oh my goodness; how time flies. And you know what? I actually find myself at loss for words… imagine that! Yes, no poems or long speeches today… something more meaningful, in fact, will follow; for when all else fails- our words, songs poems and speeches- we find ourselves turning to the core of life, the red letters… the Book that says it all; if you listen. What better thing than to post the words from the Creator of all things? So, here goes (all in thinking of our nation);

-Rejoicing in our nation’s heritage;
2 Cor. 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

-A plea for Americans to stand uprightly;
Galatians 5:1
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:13
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

1 Peter 2:16
Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

-The nation that prays;
Psalm 118:5
Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me free.

Lord, I pray that you would bless America! Lift us up, teach us and let us be a nation wholly for You! I give thanks for our forefathers; may their faith someday shine across the states as they once did. Lord we have become such a corrupt nation; rich in freedom and liberty, and yet lacking in the faith it takes to make a nation real… Lord take us, break us and build us up again; stronger, more influencal and most of all; more your people. May those of us who take your words to heart feel Your courage, strength and perseverance as we seek to touch the lives around us. On this important day we lift our prayers to You; asking You for forgiveness, thanking you for redemption and praying for Your strength. May America, through the years to come, become through each passing year Your nation, children, and wholly devoted soldiers.

With my whole heart,
America’s little patriot,
Jennifer
