Secret service? Cool!

I am getting very excited about tomorrow; we get to see Hamid Karzai tomorrow. :) So exciting! Dad has spent pretty much these past two days stapling Afghan flags for this event; this flag company they ordered from got it all wrong. Dad doesn't really appreciate that but... I can't exactly picture his boss doing it either. Mr. Karzai is also going to take a tour of the office where my dad works... wow. We told dad he should put a huge picture of us on his office door... that would be so cool if dad could talk to him a bit! But I was devastated as a devoted blogger (of course) to hear that cameras would most likely not be allowed... (sniffles in background). Oh well. I'll just have to put my descriptive writing skills to use.

Hey if you haven't found this blog yet (which is unlikely) than go here. This lady... wow. Even though she hasn't really written anything you just know she is extremely intelligent. She's home schooled! Oh yes; people will all at once be scrambling to read her blog; internet services will be jammed (if that's possible). There will be bloodshed. :) How's that Em? You'll be really famous now, because I am linked to MDG, who is linked to Blackfive, who is one of the biggest bloggers of all times. :) We'll be celebrities!

And I suppose I shouldn't let my sarcasm or exaggeration get out of hand. On to something intelligent; oh and feel free to lecture me; I MEANT to post this sooner. But I didn't and it's such a victory I feel I must not leave it out of my postings... -

Marine filmed as he shot wounded Iraqi is cleared
(REUTERS)
A US MARINE corporal shown on film shooting an apparently injured and unarmed Iraqi in a Fallujah mosque last year broke no rules and will not be punished, the Marine Corps said yesterday.

A review of the tape, which caused outrage in Iraq and around the world when it was broadcast, showed that the Marine’s actions were “consistent with the established rules of engagement and the law of armed conflict”, Major-General Richard F. Natonski, commanding general of the 1st Marine Division, said.

General Natonski said that the tape showed the Iraqi concealing his left arm behind his head, and that feigning death or surrender was a common tactic among insurgents, who would rise to continue fighting.

According to the Marines, insurgents during last year’s battle for Fallujah were known to inject themselves with amphetamines and adrenalin, allowing them to continue fighting despite serious wounds.

In sworn statements, the corporal, who remains unidentified, said that he shot three insurgents in self-defence in the mosque on November 13, believing that they posed a threat to him and fellow Marines. Post-mortem examinations showed that all three died of multiple wounds from gunshots fired from the corporal’s M16 rifle.

One of the shootings was recorded by Kevin Sites, (- curse him) an NBC cameraman embedded with the Marines. The graphic and dramatic footage that was broadcast across America prompted an immediate investigation by the Marine Corps.

The mosque had been the scene of intense fighting between insurgents and Marines the day before the shootings. The next day Marines from the 3rd Battalion 1st Regiment were sent back to the mosque amid reports that it had been reoccupied by insurgents.

On the tape the Marines are seen entering the mosque and are confronted with several apparently badly wounded or dead insurgents lying on the floor. One Marine can be heard yelling obscenities, warning the others that one of the wounded insurgents was only pretending to be dead.

The Marine in question points his gun at one, and fires a gunshot. “Well, now he is,” the Marine is heard saying.

General Natonski’s statement said that the corporal “could have reasonably believed that the AIF (anti-Iraq forces) shown in the videotape posed a hostile threat justifying his use of deadly force”.

A fourth Iraqi was shot and killed in the mosque but the bullets could not be traced to the corporal’s weapon, according to the statement. An investigation is continuing into the death of the fourth insurgent.

- Yes! Thank you lord!!! I could say SO much about this but... for yours and for my sake I better finish up.

:) God bless America!

my site meter said I got 25 visits today but I am thinking that's not right... because there aren't any comments and why would so many people read my blog anyway? :0 we'll see...

Sitemeter's pretty useful. I especially like the "referral" function, so you can see where your visitors came from if they clicked a link.

*wishes he could meet Hamid Karzai*

As for the story, why do so many liberals want to see our soldiers as evildoers, intent in killing all the women and children of foreign nations? Every chance they get, the Dems latch onto any story they half-think to be true, and use it, essentially, as propaganda against America and our armed forces.

Now, if N. Korea were doing this, I could understand. If Iran were on the lookout for any instance that could be misrepresented and used against America, I could understand that too. These countries hate us anyway. But American Liberals? They spread as much vicious propaganda as Al-Jazeera, all the while taking advantage of the rights they have in this nation they attack.

Judging from what I've seen, a soldier is not likely to shoot a person unless that person poses a theat. Isn't that what you do in war? Zell Miller was right; if the Liberals had their way, our soldiers would be fending off terrorists with spitballs.

they read because people want to experience your talent. When my internet works, I visit DAILY, if not more often.

Yup, the read because they wanna hear what you have to say. However, it IS a good idea to make sure you have blocked your own IP address from being counted by Sitemeter... that may skew the results.

You'll have to let us know if Mr. Karzai is a cool as he seems.

I wish I knew why the "liberals" put our troops and government down too! I think they were in control so long they got lazy and stopped listening to the people who elected them. Now they can't handle being second.

Greatblog. Congratulations in becoming "adopted." :-)
