hey

have no idea what to write but know that some people will get on my case if I don't so... :0

We were talking last night about some soldier who is being tried today for shooting two... Iraqis? Who were in some cars and made sudden moves. Oh yeah he was in the Marines... anyways I guess he made some comments afterwords and posted one of the many Marines mottoes or sayings on the car the two men were driving. I hear so many cases like this (or maybe the media just wants it to look like there are a lot of cases out there) where soldiers have made a comment or maybe shot too quickly and are on trial. *Deep breath*... the especially sad case is when the soldier ran into the building and shot ( or rather defended himself) a wounded insurgent. A reporter (getting angry here) got it on tape and it was out in the media before you know it. So remind me again; WHO are the bad guys? You are making these insurgents look like some poor defenseless animal who was murdered when you rail at these soldiers. REMIND ME AGAIN: WHO KILLED 3,000 AMERICANS ON 9/11, WHO PERFORMED MASS MURDERS ON THEIR OWN PEOPLE AND WHO HAS BEEN THE CAUSE OF SO MANY WONDERFUL AMERICAN SOLDIERS LOST OR WOUNDED?

Boy, you just let me at those reporters. You can laugh at the size of my muscles (and I'll laugh with you) but when it comes to America and our guys out there; STAY OUT OF MY PATH. These guys are under extreme pressure that we can't even begin to understand. Stop. Think. And pray for our guys. I hope a war veteran is on these soldiers cases. It breaks my heart... Lord help America!

It is a sad reflection when the youth of our country must remind the "adults" about why we fight this war. But, it is with a very happy heart that I know that the country will one day be run by you and your peers. Thank you for sharing the "spirit" of America. Thank you for showing that "the Torch" will be in good hands!!

19 Saudi Arabian men - directed by al-quaeda attacked our country on 9/11. Not Saddam Hussein. Not the Iraqi gov't. We are fighting the wrong war in the wrong country.

You're right. Saddam Hussein was not directly responsible for the attacks; that would be Osama Bin Ladin. But Saddam was also responsible for, like I said, thousands of his own innocent people dead. I, as an American, do not regret our President's decision to go to war and am PROUD to have our soldiers protecting me and my family while providing freedom for other countries.

We have 1700 young men and women dead. we have not captured Osama. That should have been the goal, not wasting time in Iraq. We will leave more problems than we solve unfortunately. Bombing Iraq did nothing but create a safe-haven for al-quada. There were better ways to remove Saddam from power - in this process we have alienated the rest of the world. I'm not sure why anyone would see that as a good thing - but perhaps your parents don't give you an objective viewpoint in your home-schooling lessons.

this is a comment my mother pointed out to me. it may not be specifically pointed at this one topic but I think it's an excellent one anyway:

You can run, but you can't hide. Zarqawi may elude capture the next time, and the next time after that, and indeed he may never be caught. But he will spend the rest of his wretched life running from the long arm of the United States and our new Iraqi friends -- and his near-capture is a good sign that our friendship among Iraqis is growing. As it does, Zarqawi's safe haven in Iraq grows ever smaller, while Iraqis watch their democratically elected government take shape.

it's the same with all the terrorists. we have taken away their land, their breathing space. by closing in and killing off insurgents, holding elections, we are taking away their ability to move freely. they are RUNNING from us, hiding and cowering. they are panicking because we are taking over, and though with war there is always a price to pay, in the end we will conquer and we will win. they can not run forever.

prove to me that I am not the only one here who is "close-minded" and think about what I have said before you make your reply.

clearly - you CAN run, and you CAN hide. Osama bin-laden is proof of that. There are innocent civilians killed every day in Iraq. Because of insurgents/terrorists/al-quaeda operatives. This insurgency is growing larger, not smaller. Ask any soldier who has been there. There are many that speak to the reality of the situation.

all i'm suggesting is that you realize "patriotism" doesn't mean blindly following bad decisions.
