Frumpy?
Frumpy Fashion
"We need not be frumpy to be godly." A friend of mine made this observation recently, when we were discussing the frumpy stage we'd all gone through, while attempting to follow the conservative trends and the peer pressure of the homeschool movement. We called it modest, but it was frumpy. We said we wanted to stand out, but in fact we were responding to peer pressure. The truth is, you don't have to be frumpy to be godly! I've learned more and more lately about how important it is to look good for the man in my life. I am a reflection on him. I want him to be proud to have me by his side. I want to look cute for him, not frumpy. In the same way, what we wear is to be a reflection of Christ. We don't want the world to equate the word "Christ" with frumpiness. We need to look our best for our man and our Lord.As you do your spring cleaning this year, analyze your closet's contents while thinking through a man's eyes. Ask yourself honestly, is this modest, or is it just frumpy? Today I'm celebrating my freedom from jumpers, my freedom in Christ. Because I believe it is possible to be fashionable and modest.
- I found this on ylcf.org. Great site. I love this article. Nice and encouraging! Hey yeah, I'm ready to stand out!!!

*cries* Thank you so much! You have no idea how much it means to me. Everytime I point out how utterly UGLY most "conservative" dressing and outfits look I get this nose-in-the-air response about how I'm just use to immodest clothing or I'm just going along with the world. Or something like that.
It's so nice to meet someone who understands that being ugly is NOT GOOD. It reflects badly on you, your family, and God.
Thank you thank you thank you!
