Jennifer's Musings: what do you think?
After monitoring well the visits and page views to "Jennifer’s Musings", I have been observing the slow decline in visits over the past several weeks. So that got me to thinking; what is it that readers want in a blog? Of course every blog has it’s unique style and standards. But for a reader to keep interested, what does it take? Should I keep my posts serious and steady, or throw in some light hearted joke and kind of scatter things every once in a while?
While I am contemplating these questions, I would appreciate any thoughts that you, my readers, might have as to how I can keep my blog interesting and thought provoking. While I want to keep a constant “support our troops” theme going, I also want to present a variety of subjects going that would attract a large audience.
Blogging has become a fun, yet educational activity for me, and I try to keep serious about setting my standards high. In my desire to lead people to the truth, and God, I would like to make sure that my blog is time worthy enough to attract a wide audience.
So please leave a comment and let me know what you think! Here are a few of my main concerns:
Are my posts too similar, and too long?
Do I post often enough about progress in Iraq?
What kind of posts on this blog have you enjoyed most?
What changes (relevant to my themes) would you like to see?

Well, I'm a new reader, so I can't say that my advice will count for much, but what I think attracts a wide variety of leaders is average length posts about 3 times a week. I don't know much about the theme of your blog, but I find that with my blog, the more I post on what God has been teaching me, the more comments I get. When I post on something uninteresting to myself, I am not enthusiastic about it. Also, I live on comments, so I have to make sure that I am blogging for the right reasons.
Keep up the good work on your blog! I look forward to reading it more often.
Heh.
More war posts.
And the arguements that came with them. :D
Sorry. More seriously...
War posts. :D
Maybe comments are declining because anonymous isn't around to spice things up any more.
I don't think lacking Anonymous is anything bad! :-) I've really enjoyed all your posts Jen, especially the ones pertaining to Biblical womanhood and the like, but maybe that's because I'm a girl! I think some of the greatest posts are ones written about what you've been up to and what you've learned. Keep it up!
I track my blog to,
And I've found that the more often you post,
The more visitors you draw in.
A good mix in content seems to help too.
